New sustainable LNG trucks in our fleet.

02 - 09 - 2020

Today we have taken three new LNG trucks in use in our international fleet. The tractors have been deployed at our location in Ittervoort and will mainly carry out long-distance journeys in Germany. The choice was made for the R410 from Scania. The R series is focused on safety and economical driving and with its powerful engines really built for productivity. With these characteristics, these tractors fit well within our fleet.

In March this year we received our 3rd Lean & Green Star for a reduction of more than 35% on total CO2 emissions compared to the zero year. We see the use of alternative fuels as one of the most important steps towards further sustainability. “LNG is certainly not new and much is already known about it, but we now really want to experience it ourselves so that we can also make strategic choices about it afterwards. We also want to take the step to use BIO-LNG “as soon as possible.” According to our CEO Jules Menheere.

Furthermore, testing with GTL has been going on for a long time and there are plans to test with HVO in the short term. In addition, we actively anticipate in the local hydrogen project GROHW. This project is aimed at the regional production of green hydrogen, which we would ultimately like to use for our fleet. The latter is a project for the somewhat longer term, even though the transition to hydrogen seems to be accelerating.
